Roger Wade has stepped down from the board of Boxpark after 15 years as founder and director of the business.
He will remain a committed minority shareholder and continue to support Boxpark in an advisory capacity.
According to Wade, stepping back from the board would allow him to focus on new ventures and investments through Boxfund VC.
During his tenure, Boxpark, which was a temporary retail concept, expanded into a “nationally recognised” leisure and retail brand.
Wade stated that the business is now in a “strong position with an established leadership team and supportive shareholders”.
Boxpark operates sites in several UK cities, combining food, retail and events spaces built from repurposed shipping containers.
In a LinkedIn post, Wade said: “Boxpark started as a simple idea and grew into a globally recognised brand and cultural platform. I’m incredibly proud of what the team has built and of the role Boxpark has played in supporting independent brands, creativity, and community.
“The business is in a strong position with a great leadership team and supportive shareholders. I remain a committed minority shareholder and will continue to support Boxpark in an advisory capacity.”
