Orrery, the French restaurant on Marylebone High Street, is set to close for three months from January 2026 for a full refurbishment aimed at repositioning the site and supporting plans to regain its former Michelin star.
According to The Evolv Collection, operator of the Orrery, the work forms part of a wider reimagining of the 3 AA Rosette venue.
The restaurant last held a Michelin star in 2000 under chef Chris Galvin. A new executive chef is due to be announced in the new year.
The refurbishment will update the Conran-designed interiors and retain features including the rooftop terrace and private dining room.
The design will continue to reference the restaurant’s namesake – an orrery, a mechanical model of the solar system.
Guests are being invited to visit before the end of December, with the restaurant continuing to serve its classic French menu until the temporary closure.
The Evolv Collection said visitors will still be able to dine at Orrery’s ground-floor Épicerie during the works, with small plates and wine by the glass available.
General manager Fadil Ismael Nuha will oversee the final weeks of service, during which diners can continue to order dishes such as the Dorset crab with mango and wasabi avocado.
Head sommelier Julio Sierra will offer a complimentary glass of Champagne to all bookings made before Christmas.
Martin Williams, chief executive of the Evolv Collection, said: “This is an exciting new chapter for Orrery. The group hopes to return the site to Michelin-starred status while preserving the elegant charm and warm hospitality that our guests love.”
