Grain, described as the UK’s first clean-label Mediterranean QSR, is set to open its flagship site in Holborn on 4 November, creating 25 jobs and launching a wider national expansion plan.

The brand aims to open 10 further sites in major UK cities in 2026 and reach 50 locations by the end of the decade.

Grain’s menu draws on the diets of so-called Blue Zones, regions associated with longevity, with dishes cooked in extra-virgin olive and cold-pressed avocado oils rather than seed oils. Sourdough pitas and bagels replace refined breads, while the menu features build-your-own bowls, pitas and Mediterranean dips prepared to order in under five minutes.

A spokesperson said: “Fast food is changing. People want food that fuels longevity, not fatigue. Grain is built on honesty: no seed oils, no processed fats, no shortcuts.”

The Holborn site was developed with designer Terry Moore, whose previous work includes Hotel Chocolat. The interior features natural textures, open-kitchen design and a Mediterranean-inspired colour palette.

Founded by a group of chefs and hospitality entrepreneurs, Grain said its model was intended to combine quick-service convenience with what it calls the nutritional integrity of premium dining.

The company said it was in talks with landlords and investors to secure further sites in high streets, transport hubs and university areas. A new central kitchen will support production and logistics as the brand expands in the UK and Europe.

Grain also plans to offer franchise opportunities to partners who share its emphasis on transparency and health-focused dining. Its flexible all-day menu is designed to fit both urban and high-footfall settings.
