Vincenzo’s will open a new shop in Shoreditch this November, bringing New York’s pizza-by-the-slice tradition to east London.

The site on Bethnal Green Road marks the first expansion for the brand, founded in 2022 by chef Tom Vincent in Bushey, Hertfordshire. While the original shop became known for its whole pies, the new location will focus on slices served from 5pm until late.

Slices, cut from 20-inch pizzas and starting at £5, will include Margherita, Tomato and Pepperoni alongside newer recipes such as Spanakopita, Vodka Sauce and Burrata. Whole 16-inch pies will also be available for takeaway, with optional extras including hot honey, burrata and pesto.

Vincent said the quality of ingredients remained central to the business, citing flour sourced from Puglia, San Marzano tomatoes and cheese from Latteria Sorrentina.

The Shoreditch site has been designed with references to New York slice bars as well as Italian delis, featuring mahogany-coloured panelling, green-and-white marble floors and vintage artwork. Seating will be limited, with the emphasis on takeaway.

Vincent said: “Pizza is simple: dough, sauce and cheese, but the slice shop is about more than that. It’s the smell, the art, the queue, the first bite. Shoreditch will carry the same nostalgia as Watford, but in a space that feels bigger, bolder, and built for London.”

The chef, who grew up in Watford and began working in kitchens aged 14, built his first brick oven at home before training with New York pizzeria owners including Gio Lanzo and Frank Pinello. His first Vincenzo’s site opened in 2022 and quickly gained a following despite its modest size.

Vincent said the Shoreditch expansion would follow the same approach: “We’re not chasing hype, we’re creating something timeless. A slice shop London can call its own.”
