The Halal Guys is set to open its doors on 18 November in Wood Green. The restaurant, which was founded in New York by Mohamed Abouelenein, Ahmed Elsaka, and Abdelbaset Elsayed, started as a food cart in the 1990s.
It is considered a “staple” of the New York food scene and its primary dish is a platter of chicken or gyro meat with rice.
The new location will feature its signature menu of authentic American Halal dishes, including platters and sandwiches filled with a choice of falafel, chicken, or beef gyro, and its baklava and baklava cheesecake for dessert.
The group, which has 100 restaurants across America and Asia, secured its first restaurant in February this year.
Abouelenein, CEO of The Halal Guys, said: “The Halal Guys started in the US as a hot dog cart feeding the masses of businesspeople and travellers in Manhattan. T
“The growth we are seeing all over is incredible, but we are particularly excited about the UK market and the big plans for expansion we have in the coming years. Our first location in London was extremely well received by locals, so we are happy to bring another venue to the area to continue to serve authentic Halal dishes.
