Tommy Banks set to open pub with rooms in North Yorkshire

The site is currently being renovated and will offer two-night packages to its guests

Family-run Tommy Banks Group has announced the launch of a pub with rooms in North Yorkshire close to its Michelin-starred restaurant The Black Swan.

The new venue, which is set to open in late spring, will exhibit the hyper-local, sustainably focused produce from the family’s farm in Oldstead.

The site is currently undergoing renovations and will feature a state-of-the-art kitchen, relaxed dining room and cosy bar area equipped with a bar stocked with the team’s favourites, including the Group’s very own Banks Brothers canned wine.

The hospitality business is rooted in the Banks’ family’s farming heritage in Oldstead and started after the family bought The Black Swan in August 2006. Over the years, they transformed the site into a Michelin-starred destination, opened another restaurant in York and in 2021 they launched Banks Brothers, a canned wine brand working with small-scale growers across the globe.

Tommy Banks, son of the couple, is also recognised as being the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Britain when The Black Swan retained its star in September 2013.
