German beer hall company Bierschenke has announced plans to open a new venue in Covent Garden London.

Formerly the site of Belgro Central the Victorian Grade 2 Listed site is 12,000 sq. ft and includes vaulted brick ceilings and flagstone floors.

The company is hoping to open the venue in the spring and will bring its usual menu of German beers and German cuisine to Covent Garden.

Staff will wear traditional leather lederhosen and the furnishings will include maple wood sourced from Munich.

Events at the venue will feature the Oktoberfest accompanied by the famous Oom-pah
Bands.

This is the second London site for Bierschenke, the first launched on the Strand in 2010 before relocating behind Liverpool Street station. Bierschenke opened a site in Tower Hill in 2019 which closed during the pandemic.

Bierschenke stated: “This is one of London’s iconic locations and ideal fit for our
highly rated and authentic Munich Bierkeller experience in London. We cannot wait for the grand opening followed by our traditional Oktoberfest in the Autumn.

Andrew Robinson of A3 A4 Licensed Property acquired the site for Biershenke and Alex Mann of Hanover Green Retail represented the landlords CBRE IM.
