The Inn Collection opens The Angel Inn following refurb

The property has 32 brand new rooms for guests and offers dinner, bed and breakfast stays at from just £59.50 per person, based on two people sharing

The Inn Collection Group opened The Angel Inn today (23 December) just before Christmas for food and drinks only, following renovations that began in October.

The Angel Inn will be hosting its first overnight guests from 27 December.

The inn, which is located on Helm Road in Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, has had updates to bedrooms within the main Grade II-listed building and the adjacent gatehouse, along with a change in the “look and feel” on the ground floor spaces.

The Angel Inn is the first of several Lake District properties owned by The Inn Collection Group that will be reopening in the coming months, with works currently progressing on Ambleside properties The Wateredge Inn and The Waterhead Inn.

Paul Brown, operations manager at The Inn Collection, said: “Angels and Christmas are natural bedfellows so it’s nice that we are back to welcoming guests in the build up to the big day this year. The works have refreshed all the bedrooms across the three buildings into the group’s style, and we know people are going to be delighted with them when they stay with us.

“We’re looking forward to opening and welcoming drinkers and diners in for a pre-Christmas treat and then to welcoming guests from December 27. We have strong occupancy for the first few days that we are open to guests, so it is great to see that the reopening is keenly awaited.”

He added: “We have created a wonderful bar and restaurant that people are going to seek out and enjoy and that is going to be further enhanced when the weather improves, and people can enjoy the great outdoor spaces.”
