Entegra, a Sodexo subsidiary and global group procurement organisation, has revealed its acquisition of Beacon Purchasing, which is said to provide a stronger and wider offering to “support hospitality businesses looking to improve their procurement”.

Established by Sodexo in 1999 to help businesses with food facilities to buy more efficiently, Entegra provides purchasing, operational support, digital tools, and corporate social responsibility.

The acquisition will reportedly bring Entegra’s expertise together with Beacon Purchasing’s 20 years of experience in supporting hotels, care and leisure facilities with its range of services from building maintenance and catering equipment, to design, professional services and utilities to “provide a one-stop sourcing solution for hospitality businesses”.

Stephen Beech, UK managing director at Entegra, said: “We are looking forward to working with the team at Beacon to broaden our offering which will enable the faster deployment of new areas of service to benefit our clients’ businesses.

“Both our clients and Beacon’s will gain access to an enhanced portfolio of services to serve their needs, ultimately working to drive down cost, increase operational efficiency, and boost business performance.”

Paul Brown, managing director of Beacon Purchasing, said: “From the moment we started talking to Entegra, the benefits of combining our two successful businesses just made sense. Beacon customers will now be able to leverage the power of better pricing that being part of Entegra brings, and Entegra customers will benefit from the additional services Beacon can provide.

“At this time of crippling cost pressures, having a purchasing partner that can deliver is more important than ever and we believe joining Entegra will provide real solutions for thousands of struggling businesses.”

Damien Calderini, Global CEO of Entegra, added: “As one of the largest food GPOs in the world, Entegra considers the UK market integral to our growth. Working with a company of Beacon’s calibre is the perfect next step to help grow and strengthen the Entegra position in the UK.”
