Absurd Bird, the fried chicken brand, has entered into administration due to “unforeseen circumstances”, with five restaurants overall set to close.

However, the brand will continue to be available to customers online, through both Uber Eats and Just Eat.

According to a notice on the Gazette public record, FRP Advisory were appointed as administrators on 1 July 2022.

Created in 2016, Absurd Bird had restaurants that were operating in London, Exeter, Leeds and Glasgow.

In an announcement, Absurd Bird said: “With a heavy heart we have officially closed our doors. I would like to apologise to anyone with a booking that we can no longer fulfil, this decision was unfortunately outwith our control.

“Thank you to everyone who has joined us over the last four years.”
