RedCat Pub Company, founded and chaired by former Greene King boss Rooney Anand, has agreed a deal to acquire the 18-strong Coaching Inn Group.

First reported by The Times, while the sale price is undisclosed it is rumoured to be more than £50m. 

The Coaching Inn Group was founded in 1996 by chief executive Kevin Charity. Having secured investment from the BGF in 2015, the group acquired more than 10 sites over the past six years.

Charity and chief financial officer Edward Walsh will continue to lead and run the business within RedCat, which will help and support the group to continue its expansion throughout the UK.

Confirming the news on Twitter, The Coaching Inn Group: said “We’re very happy to become part of the RedCat family and are very much looking forward to the next phase of our growth.”We’re very happy to become part of the RedCat family and are very much looking forward to next phase of our growth.
