Chef Selin Kiazim has announced the recently reopened Oklava Bakery and Wine in London’s Fitzrovia has closed for the “foreseeable future”.

In an Instagram post, Kiazim said: “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Oklava Bakery + Wine has now closed for the foreseeable future.

“Oklava Shoreditch is open as usual. Thank you to everyone who has visited us and everyone who is booked in, we really appreciate the support and are working hard to create a safe environment whilst still maintaining a restaurant experience.”

She added: “We continue to adapt as we receive feedback from our customers.”

In the video posted, the chef said the decision was taken following the low footfall in central London and in the surrounding areas.

She said: “We gave it a crack for a couple of weeks, but it hasn’t quite worked out. There’s just not enough people in Central London and the surrounding areas, and we can’t afford to have weeks like we’ve just had with low footfall, low bookings.”
