Stonehouse pub reopens following major refurb

Ei Publican Partnerships has supported publican Denise Jeffreys-Jones with revitalising The Woolpack in Stonehouse, near Stroud, which has recently re-opened following a “major” £190,000 joint investment.

Jeffreys-Jones is the new publican at the 16th Century pub in Stonehouse High Street which has undergone a “significant” transformation to enhance the pub’s traditional character and create a “warm and welcoming environment for locals”.

The Woolpack is her second pub with Ei Publican Partnerships in the local area. The extensive refurbishment received £150,000 investment from Ei Publican Partnerships, the leased and tenanted division of Ei Group.

Many traditional features have now been restored including a tap room bar area, cosy snug and 36-seat dining area. The pub’s garden is also being given a makeover and will host a range of events this summer.

Denise, who will run The Woolpack with her daughter Laura Frost, said: “I know lots of people in Stonehouse and we have received a very warm welcome. We want to create a real family feel at The Woolpack with the pub at the centre of the local community.

“Following my success at The Cheese Rollers in Cheltenham, where I have been publican since 2016, I am looking forward to working with Ei Publican Partnerships again at The Woolpack to create another great local pub where people can come together for a drink, food or entertainment.”
