Today’s news in brief – 14/03/25

Deliveroo has hit a profit of £3m for 2024, following a loss of £32m in the year prior. It comes as the restaurant and groceries delivery platform had “a good year of growth”, in which its gross transaction value jumped 6% and revenues rose by 3% in constant currency. The group also saw strong growth in adjusted EBITDA, which leapt 52% to £130m in the year, and as a result, expects it to be at the top end of guidance between £170m and £190m. 

Domino’s has revealed that underlying PBT rose 8.4% to £107.3m in 2024. Alongside this, the company’s group-wide sales rose 2% from £1.54bn to £1.57bn. Furthermore, the takeaway pizza company saw its underlying EBITDA rise 6.4% to £143.4m. Despite this, the group’s revenue actually fell by 0.4% to £664.5m in 2024. In this period the company agreed a new five year framework with its franchise partners and opened 54 stores.

Fuller’s has agreed a new £185m bank facility as it looks to pursue further expansion. The group has already exchanged contracts to acquire the freehold of The White Swan in Twickenham, which is due to be completed on 19 March. News of the bank facility comes as Fuller’s completed its share buyback programme at the start of the year, which resulted in the repurchase of 6.5 million ‘A’ shares. 

Levy UK&I has appointed Dr Vincent Walsh as director of decarbonisation. Walsh, an ecosystems expert, and leader in supply chain innovation and large-scale decarbonisation programmes, has been working with Levy since 2022 as a key advisor on its sustainability strategy. The newly-created role of director of decarbonisation will see Walsh further cement his relationship with Levy, as he finds the “best” nature-based investment projects in the UK.  

The New Albion pub on Liverpool Road will reopen on 24 March following a refurb. The pub’s existing team has been retained and will be supported by pub company Punch Pubs and Co, and new Management Partners, Stephen and Jake. The former Cookhouse Pub has been closed since mid-February as Punch Pubs make renovations as part of a £230k investment. The new pub will boast a sports offering with the addition of 13 screens.
