Chopstix has opened a new site at Junction 32 Shopping Centre in Castleford, extending its push into major retail destinations across the UK.

The outlet, which opened this month, has created 25 jobs in the region. It follows recent launches at Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in York, as the group continues to focus on high-footfall shopping centres for growth.

Chopstix, which now operates more than 150 sites across the UK, has seen rapid expansion since securing investment from European quick service restaurant operator QSRP in October last year. The new Castleford site reflects the company’s refreshed store design introduced in 2024.

Menashe Sadik, co-founder and director, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our new store at Junction 32 in Castleford, continuing our expansion across the UK into these high footfall areas that we know work so well for the brand. It’s great to be able to welcome a fantastic new team to the Chopstix family, and bring our big, bold Chinese flavours to a brand-new area.”

Founded in Camden Market in 2002 by entrepreneurs Sam Elia and Sadik, Chopstix has grown from a single London food stall to what it describes as the UK’s leading pan-Asian quick service restaurant brand. The group now has outlets across the UK and Ireland and has set a long-term goal of becoming the largest Asian QSR company in Europe.
