Calveton UK and Breal Capital have officially acquired London Brasseries Ltd, a restaurant group that operates five dining venues located mainly in London’s West End, for an undisclosed amount.

The purchase of London Brasseries follows Calveton UK and Breal Capital’s 2023 acquisition of the Evolv Collection, formerly D&D London, and extends their growing footprint in casual and premium dining.

London Brasseries’ portfolio includes Palm Court Brasserie and Boulevard Brasserie in Covent Garden, PJ’s (Polo Joe’s) in Chelsea, and Old Compton Brasserie in Soho.

Simon Wilkinson, speaking on behalf of Breal Capital and Calveton, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the London Brasseries family into our hospitality portfolio. We look forward to working with and supporting the entire team, ably led by managing director David Solomon.

“We remain committed to supporting great restaurants which continue to resonate with our consumers in London.”

Solomon added: “We look forward to embarking on this new journey with Breal and Calveton and to building upon the strong foundations that have made London Brasseries the successful restaurant group we are today.”

London Brasseries was formed in 2020 following the liquidation of the Maxwell’s Group, which operated several of the same West End sites before entering administration during the pandemic. The company was subsequently restructured and relaunched under its current name later that year.

Calveton, based in London, focuses on investments in consumer-facing sectors including food and hospitality. Breal Capital, part of Breal Group, has made several acquisitions in the hospitality and leisure industries in recent years, including the Black Sheep Brewery, Vinoteca wine bars and, in 2024, a rescue deal for 51 UK sites of TGI Fridays.
