Roadchef has returned to profitability during 2023 after seeing its revenues jump 16.9% to £256m. It comes as the group reported profits before tax of £13.4m for the period, up from a previous loss of £6.6m. During the year, Roadchef welcomed over 49 million visitors to its motorway service areas and a further 2.5 million in its drive thrus. 

Stonegate Group has invested £2.6m across four of its Slug and Lettuce venues. According to Stonegate, the investments signal a “new era” for Slug and Lettuce, marked by an “evolution in the look and feel” of venues across the UK. The investment has revitalised the sites with a new colour scheme, featuring its signature flamingo pink and jungle green. 

Nightcap shareholders have approved a plan to go private in August at its AGM. Pursuant to the passing of Resolution 1, the group’s cancellation of admission of the company’s ordinary shares to trading on AIM will become effective on 29 July. Asset Match has also been appointed to operate an electronic off-market dealing facility in the ordinary shares. 

One Devonshire Gardens will see Martin Thliveros return as head chef. He will join the Hotel du Vin restaurant with a vision to further enhance its commitment to using “the highest quality” of local produce. He will incorporate this approach to highlight the “best” of Scottish cuisine at One Devonshire Gardens.
