Individual Restaurants FY turnover hits record £76m
Sales in December rose 14% across the portfolio, with like-for-like sales up 8% compared with the previous year

Individual Restaurants has reported a record turnover of £76m for the second consecutive year, growing 4% on the previous year despite what the company described as a challenging market.
The group, which operates 34 restaurants under the Piccolino, Riva Blu and Restaurant Bar and Grill brands, said its performance was driven by new openings, refurbishments and a focus on “unrivalled” guest experience and food quality.
Sales in December rose 14% across the portfolio, with like-for-like sales up 8% compared with the previous year.
The group opened three new Piccolino sites in Marlow, Henley-on-Thames and Chichester, and added Riva Blu restaurants in Leeds and Hull. Several existing sites, including Piccolino venues in Sheffield, Virginia Water, Ilkley, Manchester and Birmingham, as well as Opera Grill in Chester, underwent extensive refurbishments.
Earlier this year the company also launched Forbici, a Neapolitan pizza brand, in Manchester, with plans to expand it to other UK cities.
Andrew Garton, chief executive of Individual Restaurants, who joined in January 2023, said: “It has been a landmark trading year for Individual Restaurants for the second year running as we remain committed to our ambitious plans to build a better and bigger business.
“Despite challenging market conditions and consumer uncertainty, we have continued to outperform the market as a result of our commitment to unwavering food quality, unrivalled guest experience and investing in the evolution of our restaurant environment.”
He added: “We’re proud to have invested extensively in our team, including strategic hires and training and development, leading to market-leading engagement and an all-time low on staff turnover. It’s our ambition to further grow the business and invest for the future, through developing our portfolio, bringing new brand concepts to market and entering new markets, both in the UK and internationally.”
The company also plans to move into the hotel sector, with a restaurant due to open in Hilton London Tower Bridge this month and more hotel partnerships planned for 2025.
