Breddos Tacos opens second location in Stoke Newington

The food is inspired by Tijuana-Born head chef Ian Ciapara´s food memories of growing up by the beach in Playas de Tijuana

Breddos Tacos is set to open its second taqueria in London, above Mezcal Bar, Doña in Stoke Newington on 4 October 2023.

The newest location is inspired by the food culture of Tijuana and Baja California.

The 36-seater taqueria will include the same style of Breddos Clerkenwell and feature its take on Mexican street food, tequila and mezcal cocktails and a vinyl collection.Created by chef and co-founder Nud Dudhia with Tijuana-Born head chef Ian Ciapara, the food is inspired by Ciapara´s food memories of growing up by the beach in Playas de Tijuana

However, the menu is where Breddos Stoke Newington will differ from the original site. The food is inspired by Tijuana-Born head chef Ian Ciapara´s food memories of growing up by the beach in Playas de Tijuana.

Chef and co-founder Nud Dudhia will be working alongside chef Ciapara.

Both known and unknown dishes will be recreated at Breddos – from Ensenada style spicy seafood tostadas – rich with ceviche, shellfish, nutty salsa macha and avocado – to Tijuanese Carne Asada and Pollo Al Carbon tacos. The menu will also deliver Quesa Biria made with dry aged beef short rib, cheek, oxtail and brisket.

Breddos Stoke Newington will serve lunch and dinner, including a local lunch deal during the week as well as a weekend Mexican brunch on Saturdays and Sundays featuring Mexican homestyle staples such as Birria De Res and more.

Ciapara said: “One of the reasons why I moved to London was to share the cuisine of my country, but I never imagined that I would have a space to represent Tijuana with Breddos. Tijuana has it all, the Mediterranean climate for produce, the ocean for seafood, meats ripe for the parilla, craft beers and lots of fiestas. Breddos Stoke Newington will celebrate the bold flavours and laid-back vibe of the city, in a space that’s designed to create good times.”
