The owner of the Grace Chinese takeaway on High Street, Cilgerran, has been jailed for four months after admitting five food hygiene offences.
According to a BBC report, Zhi Zhao operated an “unspeakably dirty” kitchen and was previously banned from running a food business in 2009.
Prosecuted at Swansea Crown Court, Judge Geraint Walters said: “If the public had seen the state of that kitchen then you would not have had a single customer.”
During the trial, Walters added that Zhao had “no concept of labelling food or keeping proper records and no understanding of allergens”.
In addition to his jail sentence, Zhao was ordered to pay £1,000 in prosecution costs.
