Emily Roux to open first restaurant with husband Diego Ferrari

Emily Roux, the daughter of Michel Roux Jr is to open her first restaurant alongside her husband Diego Ferrari – head chef at her father’s twice Michelin-star-winning Le Gavroche restaurant.

The restaurant – called Caractere – will open in Notting Hill, focusing on simple French and Italian dishes. The couple say the wine list will focus on smaller winemakers.

Roux told media: “My background and my training is, of course, classic French fine dining, but I’ve always been so in love with Italian food. Then I found love with Italian-born Diego when we were both working in Monaco at Alain Ducasse’s three Michelin starred restaurant, Le Louis XV.
