Mondo Beer and Pizza opens in Borough Yards

The venue will offer 16 craft beers sourced from Battersea, including IPAs and stouts, as well as a selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks, with Pizza made by Joe Public

Mondo Beer and Pizza, a collaboration between the Mondo Brewing Company and pizzeria Joe Public, has opened in a 924 sq ft space on a 15-year lease in Borough Yards.

The opening marks Mondo Brewing Company’s first brick-and-mortar location, with Borough Yards chosen for its historic location and hub for independent operators.

The venue will offer 16 craft beers sourced from Battersea that will be served from copper tanks, including IPAs and stouts, as well as a selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks.

Pizza is served by Joe Public, which has developed a local reputation for its California-style sourdough pizzas at its existing location above Clapham Common underground station.

The venue’s interiors were designed to match both Borough Yards’ distinctive “mediaeval-inspired” architectural style and the artwork and vibrant colours of the Mondo brand.

Todd Matteson, co-founder of Mondo Brewing Company, said: “Served by a steady flow of tourists, office workers and Londoners alike, Borough Yards was a natural choice for our first brick-and-mortar restaurant and tank-bar in collaboration with Joe Public pizza.

“We particularly appreciated the like-minded, small business mentality of our neighbouring restaurants, bars and stores. We look forward to being part of the Borough Yards’ community and using this collaboration to bring the Mondo brand to a wider audience.”
