Fast-food chain Jollibee has announced that its new Reading store will launch on Thursday 9 September 2021.
The restaurant is located on Broad Street, one of the town’s main shopping streets and pedestrianised areas.
The opening in Reading is a strategic move from Jollibee who are branching out to reach new customers across the country. It also follows on from opening in major cities like London, Leeds and Cardiff, with this being the first restaurant to open in the South outside the capital.
Furthermore, the opening will create new job opportunities for up to 50 people, supporting the local economy as the town recovers from the financial impact of the pandemic.
Adam Parkinson, business head of Jollibee Europe, said: “We are really on a roll now, opening a new restaurant every month. Reading was top of our list as the Thames Valley’s regional centre for shopping and an incredibly well-connected town in the South-East’s thriving economy.
“We have seen demand for a Jollibee in Reading across our TikTok page as well, so we knew Reading would be the perfect place to open our next store. This is a great time to open, with the Reading festival coming up. We are looking forward to continuing the celebrations and bringing more joy to Reading and its high street.”
