Pret reopens a further 71 sites

Pret A Manger has continued the gradual reopening of its UK store estate with the announcement of a further 71 of its stores now open for takeaway and delivery.

Pret had previously reopened 30 initial sites in and around London last month however the new reopenings include sites in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester.

The news was revealed in a blog post from CEO Pano Christou on the company’s website.

He said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many of you respecting the social distancing changes we’ve made in our reopened shops, and we’re extremely grateful for your support.

“This has given us the confidence to reopen a further 71 shops for takeaway and delivery
The Pret experience for both our customers and teams will continue to feel very different.”

He added: “For example, each shop will be fitted with Perspex screens at the tills, we will restrict the number of customers in our shops, we’ll provide hand sanitiser for customers, and face coverings to our Team Members who prefer to wear one.

“Gradually reopening our shops also means that we can work with more of our homeless charity partners across the UK, getting our unsold food to those who really need it. I want to say another very big thank you to our amazing teams who are coming back to work to make it all happen.”
