The acquisition falls in line with Frostkrone’s expansion into international markets by adding Abergavenny to its portfolio.
The South Wales based caterer was founded in the early 1980s and has since grown to employ a total of 200 staff. The catering company specialises in finger food and snack combinations in the form of deep-frozen goods or as fresh produce.
Commenting on the merger, Frédéric Dervieux, CEO of the Frostkrone Food Group said: “Abergavenny Fine Foods Ltd: here we have a cutting-edge business venture that focuses on its customers and their wishes.
“Such a precept mirrors exactly the philosophy of the Frostkrone Food Group. So we are delighted that Abergavenny Fine Foods Ltd with their innovative thinking and their experience will be part of our Company Group.”
Jason Rees, managing director for Abergavenny has also suggested that through the merger, the group will be able to open up more markets and further “strengthen its position” and “consolidate their standing” well beyond the UK’s borders.
Rees added: “We are very excited to be joining the Frostkrone Food Group and continuing on our growth journey in frozen and chilled finger food together, bringing more value and job security to Wales and the local area in the process.”
