Ole and Steen has appointed Joachim Knudsen as its new CEO, commencing January 2024. Formerly the MD of McDonald’s Sweden and Denmark, he joins as the bakery chain has doubled in size over the last five years, expanding to London and New York. The board anticipates Knudsen’s leadership will drive continued organic growth and strengthen the brand’s market presence.

Over a quarter of consumers plan to spend more on hot drinks next year, according to CGA. Meanwhile, more than half are willing to pay extra for higher quality, a preference especially strong among younger adults. Coffee made from high quality beans has also become a focal point for marketing strategies. However, while some seek upgrades, many aim for increased value.
