Pizza Pilgrims plans to expand into Scotland and Wales as revenues hit “record” £28.7m during the year ended 25 June 2023. The pizza chain has also revealed that pre-tax profit more than doubled to £700k and EBITDA before exceptional items was £2.4m – up from £1.1m in 2022. A further four new sites are scheduled to open in 2024 in Euston and King’s Cross in June and November, respectively. 

PizzaExpress will open its first UK airport restaurant at London Gatwick’s South Terminal on Monday 20 May. It will be the first and only PizzaExpress in the UK serving a breakfast menu, available from 3:30am – 11:00am daily, with dishes including an Italian bacon and egg pizza featuring crispy pancetta, and breakfast staples such as smashed avocado and poached eggs served on freshly baked dough.

Robinsons Brewery has revealed a brand new look of the Farmers Arms in Poynton, following a transfer of the pub into their Managed House collection towards the end of last year. The Cheshire pub has received a glow-up boasting a new modern mid-century design scheme throughout the pub. Everything has been redecorated, from the new external signage and décor kerbside to walls filled with abstract artwork, ceilings lined with murals and feature lampshades.

Sotto Cucina and Bar will open in London’s Whitechapel on 14 May. The venue will be housed at Hyatt Place London City East, focusing on contemporary Sicilian dishes. Led by Sicilian executive chef Alfio Laudani, the menu will marry Sicilian influences with British ingredients. The underground venue includes 70 covers alongside a deli bar and outdoor ‘terrazza’.
