The first Where to Vegan 100% vegan market will take place on Saturday 14 September, 10am – 5pm on the city’s New Market Square and will showcase some of Leicester and the UK’s best vegan food and product traders.
Huns – Leicester’s vegan crispy fried ‘Chickhun’ producers, The Loving Kebab, No Baloney Thali company and Home Kitchen Vegan will all be offering their vegan dishes at the market.
The market will also feature live music and 100% vegan products from make-up and skin care providers, Make Up Me Up and irresistible natural products from Zawadee Naturesgift.
Where to Vegan founder, Hiren Chohan, said: “Where to Vegan was founded to promote the supply and demand of veganism in the UK and make finding great vegan food easy – and this market event will do just that.
“I love my home city of Leicester and I know there is a huge demand for veganism here but not as much supply as there could be. I want to shine a light on the amazing 100% vegan companies in the city and encourage people to try great vegan food and products.”
Leicester City Council head of markets Paul Edwards, added: “This event will provide inspiration and ideas for anyone who’s interested in finding out more about veganism, but it will also appeal to anyone who just loves good food.
“Our new market square provides the perfect setting for this new event, so we’re delighted to be working with Where to Vegan to bring what should be a very popular food market to Leicester.”
Future Where to Vegan markets in Leicester are scheduled for Saturday November 9th and Saturday November 30th 2019. From January 2020, Leicester’s Where to Vegan markets will take place on the second Saturday of each month. Where to Vegan is planning more 100% vegan markets in other towns and cities across the UK later this year.
