Tim Hortons to launch Sheffield restaurant

The site will create 50 full and part-time jobs, as the group continues its strategy to add 2,000 roles across the UK by 2022

Canadian restaurant brand Tim Hortons has announced plans to launch its first Yorkshire drive-thru restaurant.

Opening in Summer 2021, the Sheffield site will also feature dine-in seating for up to 118 covers, as well as delivery options for the surrounding area.

Following an earlier announcement that the group intends to create over 2,000 jobs across the UK by 2022, the new establishment will add 50 full and part-time roles for the local community.

Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer at Tim Hortons UK, said: “As we continue our expansion across the UK, we knew it was only a matter of time before we found the perfect location to bring our first Tim Hortons drive-thru to Yorkshire.

“We’ve had huge demand to bring the brand to Sheffield and it really excites us to be launching in a city famed for its ice hockey and presence within the Elite League.”

Founded in 1964, Tim Hortons commenced trading in the UK in 2017, and now operates over a 27-strong UK portfolio.

Hydes added: “We look forward to engaging with the Sheffield community and are proud to be offering over 50 career opportunities for locals.

“We are recruiting for a variety of full and part-time roles and would love to hear from all those passionate about a career in hospitality, no matter the experience.”
