Halal fast food restaurant chain, The Halal Guys, has acquired its first UK site as it continues to expand internationally.
The group has 100 restaurants across America and Asia and is considered a “staple” of the New York food scene and its primary dish is a platter of chicken or gyro meat with rice.
The Halal Guys was founded in 1990 by Mohamed Abouelenein, Ahmed Elsaka and Abdelbaset Elsayed, as a hot dog cart located on 53rd Street and Sixth Avenue.
ITICO F+B, the UK franchise rights holder for The Halal Guys, was advised by London-based law firm Joelson on the acquisition.
Jan van Delden, managing partner at ITICO F+B, said: “It has been a great experience to have Andrew and the team at Joelson on board for the acquisition of our first site. They have made the whole process go seamlessly.”
