Shake Shack partners with Deliveroo for ‘delivery only’ hub in Cambridge
The chain has opened similar ‘delivery only’ venues in the past
Fast food restaurant Shake Shack has partnered with Deliveroo to open its first “delivery only” venue in Cambridge.
The hub is set to open on 9 February and will operate from 12:00PM to 10:45PM, seven days a week. To celebrate the launch Deliveroo has offered customers free delivery until 14 February.
Shake Shack which first launched in 2013 in London’s Covent Garden currently has 19 UK locations to date.
The chain has opened similar ‘delivery only’ venues in the past. Just last summer Shake Shack announced that it would open a ‘Deliveroo Editions’ kitchen in Battersea and Brighton.
At the time the company said it hoped to utilise Deliveroo to help expand its reach, especially during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic which has limited restaurantes ability to trade normally.
It follows news by Deliveroo that it has plans to expand its ‘Signature’ service for restaurant partners across the UK and international markets.
According to the delivery app, the new solutions are designed to give restaurant partners the ‘opportunity to build a direct relationship with their customers and grow their online business’
Stephen Goldstein, EVP Restaurants at Deliveroo said: “This new product expansion is particularly important given the current backdrop facing restaurant partners and is being deployed alongside other support measures for restaurants, particularly small independents that are the lifeblood of the industry.”
