Chick n’ Sours has announced it is to open its first restaurant under the Chik’n name in London’s Soho.
The chain operated by Carl Clarke and David Wolanski will open in place of BRGR.co on Wardour Street. The Chik’n offshoot is expected to offer the same menu plus some new dishes but in a fast food style. Chik’n Soho will be the first new restaurant under that name since its original outlet first opened in Soho.
New additions to the menu at the chain’s new Soho branch will include, the Cali Hot Chik Sandwich, Gangnam Style Sandwich, K-Fries, Gunpowder Fries, and Bang Bang Cucumbers. Co-owner Clarke said he wanted to offer “the best fried chicken sandwich in the fucking world” at the new restaurant.
Co-owner Wolanski, said: “Being a born and bred Londoner Soho has always been a part of my personal and professional life. I cut my teeth working at L’Escargot on Greek St and my first business was Café Soho off Broadwick St. Back then we made award winning sandwiches and now we’re back making sandwiches of a different style that hopefully will be as well received.
“Carl lost most of the 90s in Soho joints, once stage-diving in Madame Jojo’s and landing on none other than Elton John. We’re delighted to be back, to be honest. It’s going to be fantastic to be so central and in a place that teems with life. We’re going to be doing tons of other stuff in the month of April within our local community too, so watch this space.”
