Bulgaria’s Happy Bar and Grill to open first UK site
Bulgarian fast food chain, Happy Bar and Grill is set to open its first UK restaurant on the site of the Leicester Square branch of TGI Fridays in London.
Happy Bar and Grill has 22 sites across Bulgaria and two in Barcelona, with its all-day manu expected to arrive in London later this year. The chain was founded in Christmas Eve in 1994 with the first site opening in Varna. The menu consists of pizza, pasta, burgers, salads, and chicken tenders amongst other fast food favourites.
A translated statement on the chain’s website reads: “Thanks to the excellent quality of food and the high standard of service, the Happy Bar & Grill brand in Bulgaria is the strongest in its class and also the most numerous.
“Our establishments are located in the most central locations of major cities, highways and major roads in the country. In addition to the Happy brand, our Company has established and developed a number of other brands.”
The chain follows a recent trend which has seen many popular foreign chains open their first site in the UK including India’s Farzi Cafe and Japan’s Curry House Cocoichibanya.
