Award winning East Sussex restaurant listed for sale

The Curlew restaurant in Bodiam, east Sussex, has been put up for sale.

Nick Earee, divisional director of Fleurets, has recently announced listing of the freehold of the 64-cover restaurant which previously won ‘Sussex Best Dining Experience’ in 2012 and 2015 as well as ‘Restaurant of the Year in the Celebration of Sussex Life Awards 2018’.

The property occupies a prominent site, just east of the A21 and close to the villages of Sandhurst, Hawkhurst and Bodiam.

It is also close to a number of visitor attractions including Bodiam Castle, Great Dixter House and Gardens and Bewl Water.

The current owners, Mark and Sara Colley, said: “It is with a heavy heart we leave The Curlew, having dedicated 10 years into creating a nationally renowned dining destination. Our dream was to create one of the finest eating locations in the South East, and during our tenure we won a Michelin Star and numerous county awards, as well as countless applauds from industry critics and customers alike.

“We are excited to see how the next chapter of The Curlew’s life will unfold. Whether that’s casual dining, gastro pub or fine dining, The Curlew has many followers who will undoubtedly support the new owners.”
