Angel Above Portobello opens at The Distillery

The four-floor venue also features a bar, a private dining room, and three guest lodgings

Angel Above Portobello, a small plate restaurant, has opened on the first floor of The Distillery on Portobello Road.

The Distillery is a four-floor building that operates a working distillery and is also home to Portobello Road Gin and the “critically” acclaimed gin-blending experience, The Ginstitute.

The venue also features a bar, a private dining room, and three guest lodgings.

The modern British restaurant features 34 covers and will see executive chef Peter Breckon at the helm.

Breckon has worked with some renowned chefs and names in gastronomy from Heston Blumenthal to Mark Hix.

The restaurant offers carefully prepared small plates and sharing dishes and its menu features small plates such as tea smoked salmon, roasted hispi, and leek mosaic terrine.

The sharers are designed to make “the most of premium and lesser known cuts to maintain a sustainable impact on the environment”, and feature both beef and pork.

Ged Feltham, owner of The Angel above Portobello, said: “We’re delighted to have opened Angel above Portobello, in a prime location, in the heart of Notting Hill.

“We look forward to welcoming diners, inviting them to sample a unique gastronomic experience in Peter’s exciting and distinctive menu; through cosmopolitan flavours, locally sourced ingredients, and the highest standards of quality. With a focus on sustainability, we’re committed to delivering genuine excellence through our food, ambience and service.”
