Porte Noire to open this October

Located opposite Regent’s Canal Towpath at Coal Drops Yard, in London’s King’s Cross, the new bar and shop will offer a selection of international wines, accompanied by artisanal cheese and charcuterie, and an earthy brasserie-style menu

Idris Elba, and founder of Connaught Wine Cellars, David Farber, have announced the launch of their first bar and shop Porte Noire on Monday, 18 October 2021.

Located opposite Regent’s Canal Towpath at Coal Drops Yard, in London’s King’s Cross, the new bar and shop will offer a selection of international wines, accompanied by artisanal cheese and charcuterie, and an earthy brasserie-style menu.

Porte Noire will feature an outdoor space, a dining room and a bar which can seat up to 70 guests.

The new bar and shop will also be home to around 800 wine bins as well as a wine tasting room.

The food menu will feature a selection of classic French brasserie-style dishes split into tasters, bar snacks, starters, mains and desserts.

Farber said: ‘’We’re really excited to be bringing a slice of continental hospitality to London this autumn. Since launching our brand Porte Noire we have seen some incredible reviews of the product and we’re looking forward to creating a space to match.’’

Elba added: ‘’David has been working in the wine space for a long time, I know he is going to take the Porte Noire name and create something special.”
