Liberation Group promotes three to leadership roles

Fred Vanderplank has moved into a newly-created sales and commercial director role, which will combine his currency responsibility for overall drinks contracts

Liberation Group has announced the internal promotions of Alice Bowyer as the new director of food, Fred Vanderplank in the newly-created role of sales and commercial director and Ollie Fleming as the head of Free Trade in the UK.

Bowyer’s promotion comes after she joined the company in 2016, in which time she has “completely” transformed the reputation of its food offering. This had culminated in the group winning the Publican Awards for ‘Best Premium Food Offer’.

In his six years with the business, Vanderplank has driven sales whilst developing long-lasting supplier relationships, winning valuable new contracts.

In addition, Fleming’s promotions follow the substantial growth of Butcombe’s Free Trade sales over the last five years, in order to support the continued ambition to drive further sales and relationships.

In his 12 years with Butcombe, Fleming had a successful track record of continually delivering sales growth. This new role will allow him and his team to further build on its successes and to strengthen its delivery of growth of the OBV range, in particular with Butcombe Original, Tall Tales Pale Ale and Goram IPA Zero leading the way.

Jayson Perfect, group MD of pubs and inns at Liberation Group, said: “We have achieved a lot over the last five years and all three of these individuals have been integral to this success.

“We have strong ambitions and plans to continue to grow our business and we’re looking forward to a successful New Year with these three helping us to bring our exciting plans and ambitions to fruition.”
