Steve Groves named executive chef at Glyndebourne

In the new role, Groves will be responsible for overseeing operations at the Middle and Over Wallop, Mildmay, and Nether Wallop restaurants

RA Venues has named Steve Groves as executive chef at Glyndebourne, the Sussex opera house set to reopen in May.

In the new role, Groves will be responsible for overseeing operations at the Middle and Over Wallop, Mildmay, and Nether Wallop restaurants.

Groves joined the RA Group with a position at Roux at Parliament Square in 2010, before being appointed executive chef three years later.

There he was tasked with curating set and tasting menus, while creating contemporary dishes with seasonal local ingredients.

Groves said: “I am delighted to join Glyndebourne ahead of the reopening this May.

“Glyndebourne is an iconic cultural venue in the UK and we are looking forward to providing unforgettable dining experiences in an incredible location after such a hard year for the hospitality industry.”

Prior to joining the RA Group, Groves worked at Launceston Place and The Inn at Perry Cabin in the USA, and has also been crowned champion of MasterChef: The Professionals in 2009.

More recently, he won The Craft Guild of Chefs national chef of the year award in 2019 through his classical yet modern approach.
