Hans’ Bar and Grill appoints Luke Phillips as head chef

Hans’ Bar and Grill appointed Luke Phillips as head chef of its restaurant in Chelsea, London.

Phillips succeeds Adam England, who launched the restaurant in spring 2018 as part of Cadogan Gardens hotel group.

He joins the restaurant from its sister hotel Chewton Glen in Hampshire, where he spent over eight years at the establishment.

Commenting on his appointment, Phillips said: “I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to lead the kitchen brigade at Hans’ Bar and Grill at such an exciting time in its development.

“I plan to create strong relationships with my guests, introducing them to my style of cuisine, which is a fusion of classic and modern techniques that has been developed working alongside some great chefs. I thoroughly intend to immerse myself into the kitchen life by striving for originality and creativity.”

Andrew Stembridge, executive director, added: “This is a very exciting opportunity for Luke to take control of his own kitchen and use the managerial and culinary skills that he has honed during his time at Chewton Glen under executive head chef, Luke Matthews.

“Luke is a real culinary star in the making and we are thrilled to be a part of that career journey for Luke, from his early days at Chewton Glen, to now providing him with the opportunity of heading up his own brigade in one of London’s up and coming restaurants, Hans’ Bar & Grill.”
