Zela, an Ibiza-based high-end restaurant chain backed by Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafa Nadal and Enrique Iglesias is set to open its first UK restaurant in Covent Garden.
The 100-cover restaurant will serve the unique Japanese and Mediterranean fusion cuisine it has become famous for, served by a team led by Michelin star chef Ricardo Sanz.
In a statement, Zela said: “Zela restaurant will be jetting in to London with a unique blend of Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine, craft cocktails and slick service with Ibizan beats.
“To make its mark on the city’s culinary and nightlife map, for London’s foodies and the international jet-set alike, with its exotic menus and vibrant atmosphere with a touch of Mediterranean flare.”
The restaurant will be based in the ME Hotel and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
ME Hotel operators, Mabel Hospitality, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing Zela to London, a city that has proved itself as the dining capital of the world. The diversity of London´s culinary scene provides an exciting opportunity for us to showcase our take on Japanese meets Mediterranean cuisine.”
