The new bakery follows two successful pop-up bakeries on Old Street and Bermondsey Street. St John has applied for a licence to serve wine off-sales alongside a selection of brownies, bread, doughnuts and eccles cakes.
At Neal’s Yard the bakery will sit alongside other catering businesses such as Jacob The Angel, Neal’s Yard Dairy, and Monmouth Coffee.
St John currently owns one restaurant on St John Street in Smithfield, which specialises in nose-to-tail dining.
Trevor Gulliver, CEO and co-founder of St John, said: “We were delighted to discover such demand through the pop-ups, which set us off on the trail of a permanent bakery shop. When Neal’s Yard was suggested we immediately knew that it would be the perfect spot, surrounded as it is by like-minded folk.”
