Brakspear brewery has expanded its portfolio to 15 managed houses, after acquiring a new site near Maidenhead.
The Golden Ball, situated in the village of Pinkneys Green, seats 110 customers and provides an extensive menu alongside its drink offering. Existing staff will remain employed by the company.
Whilst its current format and decor is to be kept throughout the Christmas period, Brakspear plan to renovate the site in the new year. Its aim is to “bring its look and feel more in line with other sites in the managed estate”.
Tom Davies, chief executive at Brakspear, said: “We’re delighted to be adding the Golden Ball to our managed division. It’s a popular pub serving its local community with a great range of food and drink and we think it has great potential within the Brakspear family. We’re very happy with the growth of our managed estate, which we started six years ago.
“While each pub has its own individual character, they also have some shared features that help customers to identify them as a Brakspear managed site, which will encourage them to visit other pubs in the group, knowing they’ll experience the same top quality food, drink and customer service.”
Brakspear formed its managed house division in 2013, and its portfolio includes sites across the Cotswolds and south east. Last year saw the opening of its largest site to date, the Frogmill near Cheltenham, which contains 28 unique bedrooms and plays host to weddings and events throughout the year.
