Krombacher organises London pub walk to highlight pub closure crisis

Beer manufacturer, Krombacher has organised a London pub walk in order to highlight the pub closure crisis.

A team of the manufacturers workers will walk 30 miles in order to cover 300 London pubs in 24 hours. The team will be fundraising for the Licenced Trade Charity, which helps those in the pub trade, as they make their way around the capital. Recent CAMRA research found that 18 pubs close their doors each week.

Stephan Kofler, sales and marketing director at Krombacher said the closure statistics were “shocking”, and added: “It’s incredibly sad that so many pubs are being forced to close each week.

Licenced Trade Charity, service manager Carolyn Jenkinson, said: “Fundraising for the Licenced Trade Charity can make a real difference to people’s lives. The grants that we provide to pub, bar and brewery people in times of hardship can cover such items as rent and deposits for accommodation, bills and furniture. All money raised helps those in need.”
