Tom Simmons’ restaurant continues under new ownership

One Tower Bridge, the restaurant run by chef Tom Simmons, is to continue trading under new ownership after falling into administration.

The company appointed administrators Durkan Cahill on 3 August and was sold in a pre-pack deal.

The British-French eatery opened in summer 2017, six years after Simmons reached the quarter-finals of BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals. He was the youngest competitor to reach the quarter-finals being just 21 at the time.

Berkeley Homes, the company which owns the restaurant, said: “Following a business restructure, Tom Simmons will continue to trade at One Tower Bridge. We are confident that the quality of his food will guarantee continued success along with the other restaurants in the development.

“We are committed to supporting our new and established brands at One Tower Bridge, as it develops into an exciting new destination.”

Simmons told Catering Today: “The restaurant is in new ownership, under a new refinanced company and is trading happily. Our staff, suppliers and ethos for the restaurant are entirely the same and we will continue to deliver the excellent food and service that our customers expect.”
