Levi Roots closes restaurant

Entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den winner Levi Roots announced that his restaurant Levi Roots Caribbean Smokehouse in Westfield Stratford, London closed yesterday (Tuesday 25 June).

Roots took to Twitter to announce the closure, as he said: “SO SORRY! Unfortunately I have to announce my restaurant @levismokehouse is closing today! most dreadful thing is letting down my brilliant team, tried my utter most to avoid this but the party is over and all good things come to and [sic] end. So sorry to the customers too.”

It was the second restaurant for Roots when it opened in partnership with Eren Ali, the founder of Las Iguanas at the shopping centre in December 2015.

The TV chef shot to fame when he won £50,000 investment for his Reggae Reggae Sauce business after appearing on the BBC show Dragon’s Den.
