Usain Bolt has announced he is to open his first restaurant named Tracks & Records near London’s Liverpool Street station, Bolt has plans to open a total of 15 restaurants under the name in sites across the UK.
The new restaurant will open its doors on 10 October with the promise of “lunch in 9.58 minutes or its free”, in reference to the sprinter’s world record time. The restaurant will offer a selection of authentic Caribbean dishes such as fried fish, bammy along with jerk chicken and pork.
Tracks & Records’ bar will be stocked with over 150 different varieties of rum of which 100 will originate from Bolt’s native Jamaica. The bar will also stock a unique selection of signature cocktails.
Alongside the bar and restaurant Tracks & Records will also feature a dancefloor which will see reggae music and DJs entertain guests until 12:30am. The venue will be decorated with memorabilia from Bolt’s sporting career along with modern and vinyl records.
The restaurant will open from 11am until 12:30am Monday to Wednesday, and until 1am from Thursday to Saturday. On Sundays the restaurant will open at 10am and close at 9:30pm.
A statement on the chain’s website, read: “Your senses will be tingling the second you step through our doors and smell the aromas of our menu. We use fresh, local ingredients to create dynamic menu items that are sure to leave you wanting more, more, more. Not to mention our drink menu with a host of delicious and exciting cocktails sure to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.”
