Gees Restaurant to reopen this month with Matt Smith as head chef

Gees Restaurant and Bar will reopen this spring with the addition of two new dining spaces; Gees Gallery and Gees Secret Garden

The Oxford Collection has announced the appointment of Matt Smith as its new head chef at ‘Gees Restaurant and Bar’ ahead of its relaunch this spring. 

The Oxford Collection’s Grade ll-listed Victorian Glasshouse will reopen during the week commencing 23 May 2022 following a £1m+ refurbishment and expansion. 

It said Smith brings with him more than 20 years of kitchen management experience, having previously headed up the team at The Ivy Oxford. His previous career highlights include running his own successful restaurant in Whitby, North Yorkshire, and as group chef for Provenance Inns and Hotels.

Gees Restaurant and Bar will reopen this spring with the addition of two new dining spaces; Gees Gallery and Gees Secret Garden. The new venues will increase capacity to seat up to 210 guests.
