Great Northern Hotel appoints new pastry chef at its Rails restaurant

Ziu joins Great Northern Hotel with over 10 years’ experience having worked in pastry at The Bloomsbury Hotel, Searcy’s Pall Mall and with Firmdale Hotels Group

Luxury Grade-II listed Great Northern Hotel in King’s Cross has appointed Albio Ziu as pastry chef for the hotel’s restaurant, Rails.

Ziu joins Great Northern Hotel with over 10 years’ experience having worked in pastry at The Bloomsbury Hotel, Searcy’s Pall Mall and with Firmdale Hotels Group.

Working alongside Rails’ head chef Mark Weir, Ziu will assist in developing the restaurant’s dessert menu, as well as its seasonally changing afternoon tea menu and private dining and corporate packages for The Carriage events space.

Ziu said: “My role is to create exquisite desserts and pastries that elevate the dining experience. As well as new seasonal dishes, I will be evolving Rails’ vegan and gluten-free options to cater to all dietary preferences.”
