Jollibee opens new Liverpool site amid further expansion plans

Asian inspired fast-food restaurant Jollibee has opened its second UK branch in Liverpool city centre, creating 50 new jobs for locals in the area.

The chain, which is first launched in Asia and the US, opened its first English site in 2018 in London

However, the company has plans to expand further across the UK, with hopes to open another 50 sites over the coming “three to five years”. The next opening is scheduled for Leicester later this year.

Jollibee group chief executive officer, Ernesto Tanmantiong, said: “In Europe, our expansion plans are ongoing. Our next Jollibee store will open in Leicester before the end of 2020, and we remain on track to have 50 restaurants in the next three to five years.”

He added: “Our customer base around the world continues to grow as we tap local consumers within each market  expanding it from Filipinos living abroad to a wider, more mainstream market. 

“The Liverpool store is showing how Jollibee is appealing to local communities and not just to Filipinos, and we are grateful for their warm welcome and the love they are showing for our food.”
