The North Bar and Kitchen brought to market

Co-owners Davis and Betts owned the property since 2014 and opened the restaurant in 2015 after an extensive refurbishment

The North Bar and Kitchen in Leicester city centre has been brought to market for an undisclosed sum.

Set within an “attractive heritage building” along Hinckley Road, this restaurant offers a British dining experience “with a French twist”. Along with a seasonal menu of local produce and ingredients, the venue is best known for its collection of 42 premium gins including its very own brand, North42 Gin.

Co-owners, Sally Davis and Joanna Betts have owned the property since 2014 and opened the restaurant in February 2015, after undertaking an “extensive” refurbishment of the entire building. The North Bar and Kitchen also comes with two flats above the business. They have now decided to sell due to relocating and developing their North42 Gin.

Davis and Betts said: “Within our time at North we have steadily grown our business and reputation for quality food, cocktails, and service. We are certainly very proud of what we have achieved and feel honoured that our hard work has been recognised through several awards.

“The decision to sell is not an easy one, but our North42 Gin brand is growing and requires our full attention, so we look forward to finding new owners to take the business forward.”

James Buist-Brealey, hospitality business agent at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added: “I am very pleased to introduce this well-known and highly regarded restaurant, in the sought-after cultural hub of Leicester’s West End, to the market.

“Sally and Joanna have built a fantastic reputation throughout their years of ownership, for their high level of service and customer experience. The property and business, which includes two fantastic apartments, provides an exciting and rare opportunity for a new owner, who will hopefully continue to build on their success.”
